While the game is not in the first person like VII was, it looks even better if you ask me. That is not what Resident Evil 2 does! Capcom built this game from the ground up and they have used that same engine they had for Resident Evil VII. Some remakes get really lazy and just put the resolution up and smooth out jaggy textures. Why Wow? Well because this is one of the most gorgeous looking games of the year. I do think that even after all these years I still think that Leon has a better campaign, but this is really a personal preference kind of thing.
This helps give the game some replay value as I feel that both are worth playing through, plus you can unlock some cool stuff by beating everything the game has. You play through the same game, but the perspectives are different and what you do and who you come across do differ. Once again you can play as Leon or Claire.
A couple of things have been changed, but for the most part, it is telling the same story.
Doing this nets you an upgrade for your weapon. If you have already played one of the ten million releases of Resident Evil 2, you pretty much know what the story is.
You can use it in the Underground Staircase via the shortcut back to the Police Station in the Worker’s Breakroom in the Sewers.
Remember to interact with the PC Tower again to get the USB Dongle back.
You get a brand-new weapon for your trouble, including a full clip of bullets a Magnum for Leon, and an SMG for Claire. This opens the Weapons Locker behind it, letting you at the goodies inside. In the Office, use the USB Key on the PC Tower and then interact with the PC Screen. Next, once you regain access to the rest of the Police Station, head over to the S.T.A.R.S Office through the 2F of the Main Hall and the Library. Now you have the S.T.A.R.S Badge, examine it in your inventory, turn it over and press to change it into a USB Dongle Key. Then combine your Red Jewel with the box. Once that’s happened, change your underpants and hop over into the Observation Room.Įither way, once you’re in there collect the “ Bejeweled Box” from the back as Claire or on the Desk as Leon. With Claire, go into the Interrogation Room and search everything until something happens. Claire on the other hand has the Heart Key for the “Interrogation Room”, which she gets from the Special Collections Room. This gets Leon into the “Observations Room” straight away. From there, go into the side Typewriter room and get the Club Key from the whiteboard. From the Roof, go down the stairs to the north and get to the Boiler Room. With Leon, you need to use the Crank Handle to get through to the Chief's Office, go up the Stairs to the Balcony, and then climb down the ladder to the Roof. This path diverges slightly for Leon and Claire. Once you’ve made it here and have access to the area with the “Interrogation Room” and “Observations Room”, head down there. You’ll eventually reach the Chief’s Office area. Resident Evil 2 Remake Red JewelĬontinue on through the game until after you’ve found three medallions, gone through the Goddess Statue and the Secret Room underneath. You can now put this Red Jewel in your item box for safe keeping for a while - it’ll come in handy later. This gives you the Scepter.Įxamining the Scepter in your inventory will give you the Red Jewel. Now use the “Left Arm with Book” on the statue. To solve the puzzle, take the statue hand off of the table to the right of the room and combine it with the red book. There’s actually a clue on what to do here in the roll of film that you get out of the Safety Deposit Room Locker. On the other side of this locked door is the Art Room, inside of which you’ll find a Weapons Locker Key Card - which lets you into the gun cache at the back of the Safety Deposit Room - and a regal statue. Pick it up and keep it in your inventory.Īfter the cutscene with Marvin, he’ll tell you to go up to the second floor, east side - through the waiting room via another spade door. On your right as you approach the door, you’ll see the Red Book on a table to your right. Trying to reach the door on the other side will trigger a cutscene where you fall through the wooden balcony, so once that’s done, deal with the zombies and make your way back to the main hall through the locked Spade Door. When you first enter the Library on the west side of the Police Station, you’ll be up on the third floor. This guide is for your first playthrough of the Resident Evil 2 Remake - during the 2nd Story playthrough, you'll encounter the box item much earlier in your journey - for example, Leon finds it in the 2F Mens Locker Room.
